Heyo Schönwälder was born in Wesel on the Lower Rhine and sailing is his passion. In addition to his passion for sailing, his creativity focuses on photography.
Heyo Schönwälder could combine his career and passions by organizing art competitions for numerous projects. He was ultimately responsible for the implementation of the competition to design a place of remembrance and warning for the victims of the National Socialist Underground (NSU) in Erfurt.
Specialities
Heyo Schönwälder studied architecture in Berlin and worked in the competition department of the Berlin Senate Building Administration in the staff office for inner-city investment procedures in Berlin in the 1990s – including: Sony European branch on Potsdamer Platz, debis branch on Potsdamer Platz, VW branch on Holzmarktstrasse in Berlin – Preparatory work for central development projects in Berlin in the post-reunification period. In 1992 he set up his own business, Schönwälder Zimmer Architektur & Urban Planning. www.planungskultur.de
